Clan 3


	PZZ 9 By: Vo0 Clan 3 at PZZ LAN 9! Before the lan actually started, I went to frS to reformat all his computer stuff. We went to the lan at around 7 PM. When we entered we saw THIRSK^ and Argoth standing at the entrance, so weren't that late. When we installed our computer stuff there I noticed that my 1.5 meter UTP cable was way too short, so I had to buy a new one. Argoth also had to buy one, since he hadn't even one. 10 meter UTP for only 20 guilders (€9,08). I plugged the cable into my computer and into the switch. I filled in all the IP's, DNS's etc, and it worked \0/ ! Then frS was almost crying because his network stuff didn't work. We tested it with my just bought cable and his network worked. So, his borrowed UTP cable from THIRSK^ was broke! He also bought a new one and that one worked as well. When we were all on the network I decided to view the PZZ Intranet website. I found out that it was not online yet, so we would just have to wait until the info, forum, server IP's, compo info etc was on. We decided to play our lovely game, Quake 2. Around 11pm the intranet came online and we could see all things about the lan. Unfortunately, it wasn't really working, because the menu items were f00ked. But better than nothing. I checked the compo section and noticed that there was a Q2CTF compo, MERC style. We decided to join it. Argoth didn't play, because he isn't a real Q2'er. When the forum came online, many people posted their FTP IP's, so it was time to leech! So I did. Unfortunately, my network card was still a 10MBit thingy. I could only have a transer rate around 1 MB/s. frS sat next to me and he had downloads around 8MB/s, he had 100MBit. Doh! Saturday morning at 11am - we hadn't slept yet - the PZZ crew announced that it was time to play the Q2CTF compo. So we did. Our first match was against a team named HZ. Maps played: q2ctf1 and q2ctf2. It was MERC style, so no quad, techs and armor. frS would be defender, THIRSK^ and I attackers. We won q2ctf1 easily, 11-0. After that match we had to play q2ctf2, which we unfortunately lost, 6 to 3. So the overall match was a tie. We had to play a team called DL_2 after that one. Our map choice was again q2ctf1, which happened to be their choice as well. We won q2ctf1 very easily, 25-0, so they decided to call it a day, they gave us the victory. It was already 5pm so we decided to have our first sleep. Commi came to frS while we were asleep, saying that we still had to play DrM1 and we could sleep afterwards, but frS fell asleep again, but we won that match without even playing, and while we were still sleeping. So we can even win matches in our sleep! We were into the semi-final! When it was 10pm we all woke up. frS told us that we beat DrM1 and THIRSK^ and I were happy \0/ ! Being in the semi-final gave us great ideas! There were sitting some irritating, simple-minded kiddos next to us who were listening to irritating, simple-minded trance and other commercial shit. So we decided to make some funny backgrounds in Paint. Argoth came up with the idea, because he had to sit just next to them. Then THIRSK^ made one, after that frS and me decided to make some. You can find some funny ones here: When it was 1 AM, we had to play fcK. Our map was again q2ctf1 which we won easily with 7 to 1. 2nd map was q2ctf2 and we also won that one without much resistance. We were in the final! My money was quickly becoming close to zero so I had to borrow some money from Argoth, which I hope he didn't mind. We ate fries in the morning, which were very... grose. So I ate a sandwitch after it, which was much better. Next time I will take more money to a lan \0/. We went back leeching and we all fell asleep at 5 AM, waking up at 10 AM to start practicing for our final. When it was 1 PM, it was time. The final began! First map to be played was again q2ctf1. We won that one without an enemy cap, 7 to 0. Next map was again q2ctf2, which we lost badly. But since we had more caps, we had to decide the final map. We chose q2ctf5. We were all very nervous. They made the first cap after a long cross-steal. When it was a cross-steal again, I went to their base to attack. I saw the flagcarrier so I railed him twice. He died! I strafe-jumped to the flag which was deadly lying there. When I was close to it, a DrM2 player shot a rocket just before my feet, so I jumped OVER the flag, I did NOT return it! He killed me and our chance of making it 1-1 was gone. Just a few minutes after that they made 2-0! We were able to take it back to 2-1. In the last minutes of the match it was again a cross-steal. We were not able to take their flag, and they were not able to take ours, so it stayed to 2-1, in their favor. We lost the final in maps, we made more caps though but that didn't count. They won a 8-port 10/100MBit switch, an abbo on PC Zone! and some other stuff. We won... NOTHING! Better luck next time... There were only 4 hours left till the end of the lan so we decided to get back to leeching. I tried to download JURRiE's Dragonball Z stuff but my download was only 70kb/s? He came up with the idea to give me CD-R's which he had just burned. Sounded good, so we did. I now have 1-204 \0/ ! When it was 6pm Argoth's dad came to pick up THIRSK and him, just after that frS' dad came to pick up him. My dad came around 7:30 PM :) .
